Nice looking investment.
Property offered in Howard, Georgia. This is one amazing bargain. This House plus 10 Acres is offered for sale by Owner located in Georgia. Built around around 1920 it is approximately 2000.00 square feet. High offer: $60000.

Click photo for more details

Our home was originally the typical Georgia design of that time (1920's): square, all wood, one story, 4 rooms with two chimneys and a fire-place in each of the rooms. A porch went all across the front and half-way back on the two sides. The floor of the porch was wood. The roof was made of shake shingles(wood) and the outside skins of the house were also shake shingles. As the family grew, another bedroom, a kitchen, and a bathroom were added. The added bedroom has a carpeted, but hardwood floor . The walls and ceilings are made of composition wall-board. When my parents bought the home in the 1970's, the first thing they changed was the exterior skin. It became all white aluminum siding. The roof was changed from shake shingles to asbestos shingles. The wooden porch floors were replaced with concrete. They also had insulation blown into the attic to reduce heat loss. The interior floors are all made of hardwood. The walls are made of wood and are 12 feet high. The ceilings are also wood. Three of the 4 rooms are now carpeted and the other one(dining room) is polished hard wood. The kitchen and bathroom have vinyl tile floors. Approximately 25 years ago a second bathroom and laundry room with a separate water heater was added. The "new" bathroom is built on one of the side porches. Also, carpeting was installed in a bedroom and the living room. About 10 years ago , we had the fascia and eaves of the house covered with vinyl and aluminum . This eliminates all exterior painting. Also, the entire interior of the house was newly painted. Propane fireplace log heaters were inserted in the four fireplaces. Four years ago we had new carpeting installed in the other two bedrooms and the large central hall-way. Three years ago, we had the roof replaced with a life-time metal roof. This year (2009) we updated the original bathroom. Recently, I had electric heaters (4000 Watt) inserted on the thresh-hold of all 4 fire-places. The heaters are individually thermostatically controlled. Our home has 5 rooms, eat in kitchen, large central hallway, and 2 full baths. There is also an enclosed back-porch. We have the home set up as 2 bedrooms, living room, dining room, and office. The house is on 10 acres of land that is covered mostly with pine and GA red cedar. It slopes slightly down hill to the north. A good road borders the south side of the property. The house, which is only a short distance from town, is completely surrounded by trees. No other buildings are visible. We have our own water well with submerged pump. There are 3 sheds in various physical conditions. Each bathroom has it own septic tank. A word of warning. If you have spent your life living in a steel, cement, or brick box called a house, you can be sure living here in an old wooden house will feel quite different.
